Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts written examination for various posts in different government offices and departments for aspirants who have completed their graduation and also for aspirants who have completed 12th standard (high school level)

Q: I use -5D spectacles; will it create any problem in income tax inspector or any other post?

Ans: No, no problem at all. Your vision should be 6/6 using glasses.

 

Q: Which category of candidates are exempted from examination fees for exams?

Ans: SC/ST, physically handicapped, Ex-servicemen and women candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

 

Q:  Is it mandatory to appear for Paper 3 and Paper 4 in SSC CGL Exam, if I have applied for them?

Ans: No, It is optional.

 

Q:  If I fail or remain absent in Paper 3 and Paper 4 in SSC CGL Exam, will it affect my candidature?

Ans: Well, if you do not give or are unable to pass paper 3 or 4, ­III, then you will still be considered for all the other posts.

 

Q: How much time is sufficient to prepare for SSC CGL Exam?

Ans: 4-6 months are sufficient if you study regularly (6-8) hours a day.

 

Q: What to do when dates of interview/PET clash with another exam or interview?

Ans: No change is ordinarily permissible. However, if the interviews/PET are being held at the specified venue for more than one day, the request may be considered if made at least ten days in advance with supporting documents.

 

Q: What to do when a name and roll no. figures in the results but the category shown is not correct?

Ans: Such candidates are expected to inform the SSC immediately for re-determining their results in the actual category.


Q.What is SSC CGL Exam?
Ans: SSC CGL is Combined Graduate level exam which is conducted by Selection Staff Commission. You get very good central government job after clearing this exam.

Q.What is the Educational Qualification for SSC CGL Examination?
Ans: As per the Official SSC notification, You need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government on or before 01.08.2017. There are few posts of SSC CGL in which additional qualification is required.

(i) Assistant Audit Officer: This is the new post of SSC CGL, which was introduced in 2016.
Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or Institute
Desirable Qualification for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer (AAO): Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Economics.

(ii) Statistical Investigator Grade - II:
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute and at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

(iii) Compiler:
Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics/Statistics/Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective subject.

Q. What is the Age Limit for SSC CGL Examination?
Ans: The age limits are different for different posts.  Generally, the age limits are 18 to 27 years on the crucial date.

Q. I’m in the last semester/ last year of college. Can I apply?
Ans: Yes, If your final result is declared before 01.08.2017 then you are eligible.

Q. Does SSC CGL exam have sectional cut­-offs like in IBPS and RBI exams?
Ans: There are no Sectional Cut-Offs. But there is an overall SSC CGL cut off, which is different for different posts and different categories.

Q. Is there any new post introduced by SSC this year also like Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) was introduced in 2016?
Ans: Yes, This year also a new post has been introduced by SSC CGL, which is Assistant Accounts Officer with gradepay 4800.

Q. Is there any Post of SSC CGL which is considered as State Service?
Ans: No, All the posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e. the candidate, after Selection may be asked to serve anywhere in the country.

Q. Is it mandatory to appear in SSC CGL Tier II (Paper ­3(Statistical Investigator Gr.II & Compiler) and Paper 4(Assistant Audit Officer)) as my name is in the list?
Ans:. No, it is not compulsory. Tier II of SSC CGL conducts total 4 papers in which paper 1 (Quantitative Aptitude) and paper 2 (English) are compulsory for all the posts while paper 3 and paper 4 are optional. If you have applied for Statistical Investigator Gr.II & Compiler and Assistant Audit Officer while filling your SSC CGL 2017 Application form then you can appear for paper 3 and paper 4 of tier II but in this case, also it is not compulsory.

Q. What will happen if I am absent in Paper ­3 /Paper 4  of SSC CGL Tier II because my name is mentioned in the list of Qualified candidates for Paper III?
Ans: If you don't write SSC CGL Paper 3 /Paper 4 of tier II, then you will not be considered for Statistical Investigator/ post. But you will get any of the rest of the posts you applied for if you qualify.

Q. If I appear in statistics paper and unable to qualify, won't I get any of the other posts as well?
Ans: Well, if you are unable to pass in paper ­3 of SSC CGL Tier II Exam, then you will be considered for other posts. SSC will consider your name for another post for which you are eligible.
